“For this live set, I drew strong inspiration from Neil Landstrom’s 1995 performance at the House of God, using a very minimal setup devoid of computer usage. The rhythmic section is handled by the Erica Synth Perkons, while the more experimental textures are achieved with the Syntrx 2. Bass lines, on the other hand, are managed by the Cyclone Analog 303 clone and the Erica Bassline DB03. To add a trance touch, I incorporated some samples played with the Octatrack. Each synth is then run through the SSL Big Six and recorded live on a Tascam 3000DA – the aim was to achieve an extremely dry sound, free from any predetermined structure. No sound design, no plan; 60 minutes of pure techno improvisation. There are, of course, errors and imperfections, but the goal was to recreate the raw sound typical of 90s techno.”
