Hailing from the city of Donetsk, Odessa-based artist Nikita Olkhovsky aka Sønar is the disciple of the Ukrainian underground scene. He was exposed to the world of music as a young cellist at 6. Since then he went through multiple metamorphoses and ended up standing behind the decks once he turned 22, totally possessed by the experimental spirit of Detroit techno and Berlin schranz.
His style emanates mainly from mechanical and saturated grooves within the framework of modern industrial techno. Hence the track selection epitomizes the idea of the globalist era, where man is represented as a link between machine and nature. Finding himself in such a predicament, a human tries to find an outlet, to lean upon his nature, dissolving in the tribal rhythms of percussive tunes.
